Dreamforce 2026 for sales leaders: Hunter, Piper, Salesforce in Claude, and the rename

Sales Cloud got its name back at Dreamforce 2026, and three things arrived with it: an outbound agent that works a goal for weeks and is not GA until November, an inbound agent that is GA now, and a Claude plugin with 37 sales skills in beta for every customer. This is what a sales leader can turn on this quarter, what the customer numbers measure, and the order I would do it in.

Dreamforce 2026 for sales leaders: Hunter, Piper, Salesforce in Claude, and the rename, article illustration

The first thing a sales leader will notice after Dreamforce is that the product is called Sales Cloud again. Salesforce dropped the Agentforce prefix it added a year ago, so the licence you bought as Agentforce Sales is Sales Cloud on the next renewal quote and in the Winter ‘27 notes, which were written before the reversal.

Underneath the name, three things changed for sales teams. The recap covers the whole event. This post is the sales cut: what is available, what is dated, and what I would do first.

Hunter is the first long-horizon agent, and it is not GA until November

Hunter is the outbound sales agent in Salesforce’s named-agent lineup. It runs pipeline work from research to outreach, collaborates with the seller, and is the first agent on the new long-horizon runtime, which lets an agent pursue a goal across days and weeks with memory, durable execution and human checkpoints. Hunter is in pilot, with general availability in November 2026.

The customer example is Perk, which Salesforce says has 60% of its sales pipeline built by the agent. Fulton Bank, per Salesforce Ben’s keynote roundup, runs Hunter against Gmail for background tasks. Both are their numbers, not something I can check.

I covered what a long-horizon agent is and what a named agent lets you change. The sales-leader summary: Hunter is the most interesting thing Salesforce showed for sellers, and you cannot build a Q4 plan on it. Plan a Q1 pilot instead.

Piper is GA, and it is the inbound agent most teams should start with

Piper engages inbound leads on your website and in inboxes, qualifies them and converts them. Piper is generally available now.

Asana reports four times the conversation volume with it and a 45-day average deployment, per the same announcement. Siemens, in its own press release, runs an engagement agent and a qualification agent over 2,500 monthly inbound leads and says it converts all of them into productive sales conversations, with Piper planned next for partner onboarding.

Read “all of them” as Siemens’ claim about a specific stage of a specific funnel. What the number does tell you is the shape that works: inbound, high volume, a clear qualification rule, and a human on the other end of every conversation the agent starts. Which is the inbound lead agent I described in August, with a name on it.

If you turn on one thing from this list, turn on Piper on one inbound form and measure it against the form’s current response time.

Siemens’ release also describes wiring Agentforce into its Teamcenter service lifecycle system, so a seller or technician can identify a spare part and validate a quote from engineering data inside the same conversation. For an industrial sales team, that quote-validation step is worth more than any percentage in the release, because it is where a wrong price would otherwise leave the building.

Salesforce in Claude is in beta for every customer

Salesforce in Claude, the Claudeforce plugin, moved from a select pilot to beta for all customers at the keynote. It ships 37 sales skills in five jobs: the daily briefing, deal strategy, account growth, meeting preparation and data management. The keynote cited around 4,000 sellers using it inside Salesforce and Anthropic, per the live coverage.

Three things a sales leader should know before asking IT to switch it on.

Every read and write runs as the seller, through your existing permissions, so an over-broad profile is now reachable by a model that will use it. Pricing is not published, and consumption runs on two meters, your Salesforce entitlement and your Anthropic contract. And the skills are sales-only for now, with service and marketing due late in the year.

I wrote a four-week pilot plan for the plugin and a questions page with the current answers on cost and access. Run the pilot with five reps in a preview sandbox with outbound email set to confirm before send. Do not roll it out because Dreamforce was exciting.

The Winter ‘27 sales features are already in your org

Most orgs upgraded to Winter ‘27 on September 4 or will on October 2 or 9, and the sales items in it are the ones sellers will feel first. Salesforce Ben’s Sales Cloud roundup has the list.

Engagement agents, the nurture agents, are now built in the new Agentforce Builder on Agent Script. If you configured nurture logic on the older builder, plan the move rather than waiting to be moved.

Prospecting can be scheduled to run on the days and times that suit the team, which fixes the overnight-research problem I described in the sales agents post.

Forecasting is now Pipeline Forecasting, with deal risks, methodology scores, contact insights, agent activity and activity heatmaps in the forecast view. The pipeline forecast agent used to assemble that data by hand. Einstein Conversation Insights generates suggested next steps from a meeting transcript, and voice notes capture calls that were never transcribed.

Coworker for sellers: what Adecco is doing with it

Agentforce Coworker, the agent in the Lightning search bar, is available to all customers. The sales reference is Adecco, which is rolling Coworker out to 27,000 employees in more than 40 countries for sales and recruitment, on top of agents already live in ten countries. Denis Machuel, Adecco’s CEO, described the value as a single interface that knows candidate history and client context at the moment a human decision matters.

Machuel’s description is the right one for what Coworker does for a seller: context, not autonomy. Whether it costs you credits depends on a permission-set decision your admin makes at setup, and AI Skills, which let a rep teach Coworker a repeatable task, are in pilot with GA in October.

What is dated

Piper, Coworker, Salesforce in Claude beta and the Winter ‘27 features are available now. Hunter is November. AI Skills are October. Service and marketing skills for the Claude plugin are late 2026. Koa, the CRM reasoning model, is in pilot with GA in winter and US-only to start, and the model choice belongs to your platform team, not to sales.

The order I would do it in

Turn on Piper on one inbound form this month and measure response time and qualified-meeting rate against the current baseline.

Schedule Prospecting for the hours the team is at their desks, so the research lands when someone can act on it.

Pilot Salesforce in Claude with five reps in a preview sandbox, with the permission review done first and outbound email on confirm.

Move any Engagement agent built on the old builder to Agent Script before the October upgrade weekend, so you are not debugging two changes at once.

Put Hunter on the Q1 calendar as a pilot, with the long-horizon checkpoints defined before it runs its first week-long goal.

Understanding the basics

What is Hunter in Agentforce?

Hunter is Salesforce’s named outbound sales agent, announced on September 11, 2026. It runs pipeline work from research to outreach and is the first agent on the long-horizon runtime, which lets it pursue a goal over days and weeks. Salesforce has it in pilot now, with general availability expected in November 2026.

Is Salesforce in Claude available to sales teams now?

Yes, in beta for all customers as of Dreamforce on September 15, 2026, with 37 prebuilt sales skills. Pricing has not been published, every action runs under the seller’s existing Salesforce permissions, and service and marketing skills are due in late 2026.

What happened to Agentforce Sales?

Salesforce reversed the 2025 rename at Dreamforce 2026. Agentforce Sales is Sales Cloud again, alongside Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Commerce Cloud. Agentforce remains the name of the agent platform, and the licences and configuration underneath are unchanged.

What is Piper in Agentforce?

Piper is the named inbound pipeline agent. It engages leads on websites and in inboxes, qualifies them and converts them to conversations with sellers. Salesforce lists it as generally available and cites Asana’s four-times conversation volume and 45-day deployment as the reference.

Start where the volume is

Every sales announcement at Dreamforce pointed at the same thing: the agents work where the volume is high, the rule is clear and a person closes the loop. Inbound leads, meeting prep, scheduled research. The week-long autonomous deal rescue is the demo, and it is November.

Put the agent on the inbound form first. The rest of the list gets easier once you have one number that moved.
